When entering treatment for drug addiction, you often have to decide what type of program is right for you, along with a doctor, therapist and other clinicians evaluating your case. The main types of programs offered at Cornerstone are the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Outpatient Program (OP). Our partial hospitalization program often includes community housing while our outpatient programs allow the client to receive addiction treatment during the day and return to his or her home each night. There are pros and cons to each type of treatment. Whether PHP or IOP is right for you can depend on several factors. We will explore the pros and cons of these two treatment programs.
Day/Night Treatment with Community Housing
One of the main benefits of being in our Partial Hospitalization Program is that it allows you to focus on your recovery without interference or distractions from outside factors. Removing yourself from the environment that triggered the negative behaviors in the first place leads to a higher rate of success for recovery. Living in our residential housing community means you have a structured daily schedule with 24-hour supervision. Clients are transported to the treatment facility for individual and group therapy sessions, shopping trips, the gym and beach outings, as well as 12-step meetings if that is part of your plan. The 24-hour supervision helps limit any exposure to drugs or alcohol while living in the facility.
Cornerstone clients live in a newly renovated waterfront residential facility that is just steps from the beach. We provide holistic treatment services, including acupuncture, massage, and nutrition. Our programs are tailored to your specific needs and preferences. We understand that many times, family relationships are strained, and family contact is sometimes limited until your therapist feels that contact with your family and friends would benefit your treatment. We pride ourselves on being family-oriented in our approach because we know that addiction is a family disease. We offer resources for family and loved ones of our clients, such as Family Night events two times per month. In addition, we offer case management services, court liaisons and other services that help you prepare to re-enter society.
Outpatient Rehab Programs
Outpatient rehab programs allow you to go home and be with your family each night. In most cases, outpatient clients can still keep their job, or at least work part time. Many of our outpatient clients have been through the PHP program first. Outpatient rehab is usually part of the step down process from PHP to IOP, Outpatient and Aftercare. It generally helps be removed from the environment where these addictive behaviors have manifested. We develop a unique program for each of our clients based on specific needs and the individual situation presented.
